Re: SO I'm starting a list RULES to know about your Hobby!
Another good rule is to ask an employee at a LFS a silly question to see if they are just trying to sell you something or do the really care about your tank. When I was brand new to the hobby I tired to buy a fish and Gerwin stopped me and would not sell it to me cause he said I wasn't ready yet! No...

Re: Best way to move an established reef tank
Why would disturbing the sand kill fish? Everytime I clean my tank I stir the sand all up with the siphon.

14 Gallon Bio Cube
I have a 14 gallon Bio Cube sitting in the corner with just saltwater, live rocks, and sand in it. What would be some good fish to put in there? I was thinking about a sea horse tank, but I don't know.? Any suggestions on what to do with the tank?

Re: SO I'm starting a list RULES to know about your Hobby!
That's pretty much the golden rule Haha. Just a little FYI, Gerwin's prices are great! I was stationed in Charleston SC last January and I can barley afford to buy a piece of coral here in Charleston. I remember going to Garwin's and I was like a kid in a candy store! I would always walk out with so...

Male clown fish eating all the eggs
Is it normal for the male clown fish to eat the eggs? He eats them just as fast as she can lay them. I have tried feeding them when I notice she is laying eggs but he ignores the food and goes straight for the eggs.

Re: Clowns hosting a last
My clown fish have hosted my 19 headed frogspawn. They lay eggs on the branches all the time but the male eats all the eggs just as fast as she can lay them. Is that normal?

Re: Chalice Polyp Extension ??
I have a hollywood stunned chalice and at night it has a ton of 3 to 4 inch tentacles coming out of the eyes. I have fed mine with the lights on and with the lights off. I turn off all the pumps and squirt mysis shrimp all over it. After a few mins I can see the eyes reaching for the shrimp that is ...

Brown Diatom and Red Sludge algae
My tank is about 3 months old. It is a 34 gal red sea with about 40 lbs of live rock. All of a sudden I have the diatom and red sludge showing up in the sand. I have plenty of flow. It is like a dang hurricane in there. Any reason this stuff is all.if a sudden showing up?

Selling Coral
Do you need permits or any kind of paperwork to sell coral out of your house? I made a little coral farm with a little 14 gallon bio cube I had sitting in the garage. The prices here in South Carolina are ridiculous. I can order frags online and sell them for $10 more than that I paid for them and s...

Re: Killer Clown Fish from Outer Space

Killer Clown Fish from Outer Space
I have a 34 gallon red sea max tank. I have a mated pair of clown fish. The female is very aggressive. If I stick my hand in the to move something is attacks my arm until I take it out of the tank, and she hits hard. I want to put a couple more fish in the tank but im scared that the female clown wi...
